Saturday in London- Day 4

2

October 3, 2012 by travelingsole

I shouldn’t be writing right now. I’m tired. My brain feels in a muddle… I just want to take a nap. I’ve been getting too much sleep and I’m just getting to that iceberg of “catching up on sleep”. I’m sure I’ll get home and sleep 16 hrs straight. As a birthday treat for William, the family went on a ride on the cable cars. The cable cars were redone before the Olympics. They don’t go all the way to the Olympic stadium but they do go right past the O2/Millenium Stadium.

Taking the No. 15 double-decker to the train station (the nearest train station to their house was closed for the weekend while they did repairs on the line). Lewis on the left and the kids in the back. Diana took the picture and Susie was on the main level with Samuel in the push chair.

Took the train to the cable cars.

The cable cars – William’s birthday treat.

What do you think of this building? This is the 02/Millenium Stadium. One of the venues for the Olympics.

We got a bus to North Greenwich (pronounced gren-ich).

Greenwich Market

After lunch Lewis, Susie and the children when home. Diana and I went shopping in the market. Then to Covent Garden for some more shopping. But we walked in and the place was overwhelming. Expensive shops and lots of them. Thankfully there was a bunch of street performers there so our trip wasn’t in vain. After another ride on the tube (by the way we are pros by now) Then dinner of leftovers from our Indian meal back at the flat.

Too tired. Have to take a nap. But it’s the last day… We should be going to a museum… Day 5-7 will have to be when I get home… We leave for the airport at 5:30 tomorrow morning. We will get the tube the whole way so it’s going to take an hour and 15 to get to the terminal…. Flight to Toronto… flight to Pittsburgh then HOME!

Ok I think I just got a 2nd wind. We’ll have to go check out Museum of London

Cheers!

Karli
